With more than seven years of professional experience in healthcare, Dr. Shahin specializes in practicing Interventional Radiology. His primary responsibilities include treating patients using minimally invasive techniques using image guidance (fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and computed tomography). Dr. Shahin has expertise in angiography, angioplasty, stenting, chemoembolization (local chemotherapy), radio-frequency ablation, uterine fibroid embolization, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty of spinal compression fractures, and many more minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Shahin became involved in his profession because of his interest in medical imaging and the ability to perform complex surgical procedures using minimally invasive image guided techniques. Dr. Shahin received his MD from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (New Jersey) in 2000 and completed his residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital (New York) in 2005 and 2006, respectively. He is affiliated with the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Medical Association, the Society for Vascular Medicine, the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome. Dr. Shahin stays current with the trends in his profession by attending training programs and reading industry-related publications.
