6th Annual Georgia Society of CPAs Educational Foundation Golf Tournament

Over $25,000 was raised at this year's tournament for scholarships and programming that will assist Georgia accounting college students.

ATLANTA, GA, June 24, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Recently, the Educational Foundation of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) hosted golfers at Brookfield Country Club in Roswell, Georgia for their Annual Golf Tournament. Golfers and attendees spent the day networking and enjoying the beautiful weather while raising money for the Golf Tournament and raised over $25,000 for scholarships and programming that will assist Georgia accounting college students. This year's tournament set a record with 95 players in attendance!

Educational Foundation President Elect and Chair of the Foundation Golf Committee, Robert Fields, commented, "The Golf Tournament brings members and colleagues together for a fun-filled day of golf and friendly competition while raising funds for accounting scholarships, awards, and student programs. The tournament is a great place to support the cause and network with other professionals."

A putting contest kicked off the competition, followed by a standard scramble. The day concluded with a lively 19th hole party at the clubhouse. Afterward, Robert Fields presented prizes to the top three scoring teams, as well as the two individuals who were closest to the pin and had the longest drive. The day closed with a ball rolling contest where the winner split the pot with the Educational Foundation.

The Foundation Cup, or "tournament within the tournament," allowed sponsors coming in at the Title, Double Eagle, Thirst Quencher, Eagle, 19th Hole, and Birdie sponsor levels to compete for bragging rights and a trophy to display in their office. The Carr, Riggs & Ingram team won the Foundation Cup this year.

The Foundation would like to thank all golfers, attendees, sponsors, and supporters!

Many thanks to our volunteers on the day of the event: Robert Fields, Stewart Carlin, Tann Tyson, Paula Sands, and Jodi Prevost.
