CHEROKEE, NC, November 14, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sandra K. Skidmore, Licensed Practical Nurse at Tsali Care Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of nursing.

Ms. Skidmore has 38 years of experience in healthcare and five years with Tsali Care Center, a long-term care geriatric facility. Recognized as an advocate in geriatric nursing, she is tasked with dispensing medication, taking care of acute episodes, assisting residents with daily living and supervising CNAs. She considers detecting a medication error just in time to save the life of a baby confined in the neonatal intensive care unit to be the highlight of her career to date. Previously, Ms. Skidmore worked as a caretaker for a family and served under a physician, who was an ENT specialist and plastic surgeon. She credits her success to her love for people and earnest desire to be of service to them.

In addition to being a Licensed Practical Nurse, Ms. Skidmore received an Associate's Degree in Social Sciences from Shawnee State University in 1986. In her spare time, she volunteers in a local used bookstore and with the American Red Cross. She is currently taking courses in nursing and computers. Her goals for the future include becoming a Registered Nurse, creating her own homepage and mentoring aspiring nurses.
