Cambridge Who's Who Names Ricardo Cidale Executive of the Year in Digital Media Software

Author of 'The Wizard of DOS' and CEO of LabOne Systems America, LLC

AUSTIN, TX, November 18, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ricardo Cidale, Chief Executive Officer of LabOne Systems America, LLC, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Software Development. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership, and service.

An international business specialist in the high tech industry, Mr. Cidale has 24 years of professional experience where he specializes in business planning and team development. He notes that as a child he grew up dreaming and building "toys" using scraps from a junkyard near his home in a lower middle class neighborhood in Brazil. He received a scholarship to move to Texas and study engineering at Texas A&M University. During his tenure as a research assistant, he gained an almost unlimited access to computers where he had the freedom to learn everything he could. During his senior year at Texas A&M, Mr. Cidale became frustrated with the books used to teach students about PCs. That year he wrote his first book called, 'The Wizard of DOS,' which was adopted by several courses at the university and later published by McGraw-Hill in Portuguese, quickly becoming a best seller. While pursing his Master's Degree he chose to study finite element analysis and later started Wild West Software, a computer and a program that was able to do the work of a mainframe.

In 2003, Mr. Cidale founded Bataguassu Capital, which was created to enable companies to build social networks where people could see and listen to content. Bataguassu quickly acquired LabOne Systems, which now enables millions of users across Latin America and Southern Europe to experience rich media in a seamless and ever-evolving way. At his current post, he is responsible for ensuring that companies have the right people and the right tools to make the right product. He is excited at the notion that info tech professionals are just scratching the surface of a truly connected world - a prospect that he looks forward to pursuing.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Cidale received his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering in 1985 and his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, with a minor in mathematics, in 1982. He was a board member of Bematech and served on the board of directors of Gemco. He currently sits on the board of directors of Automatos and is the founder and CEO of Inizio Urban Development.
