Dr. Wiedermann has been an experienced senior manager of gas turbine at MAN Diesel & Turbo SE (Societe europeenne, formerly MAN Turbo Inc.), in Oberhausen, Germany, since 1999. One of Europe's leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, MAN has production facilities worldwide with products that range from general purpose trucks and special purpose vehicles to buses and coaches, as well as diesel and gas engines, turbo compressors and industrial gas turbines. Prior to joining MAN, Dr. Wiedermann spent seven years as a senior research engineer with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Takasago, Japan.
The recipient of a Diploma, Ph.D., and Habilitation from the University of Hannover in 1981, 1985, and 1991, respectively, Dr. Wiedermann was a research fellow and assistant lecturer at his alma mater between 1981 and 1992, research fellow for the Japan Society for Promotion Sciences in Tokyo and guest lecturer at Tokyo Denki University during 1991, and lecturer in the department of mechanical engineering at Tokyo Denki University from 1994 to 1999. In 1991, Dr. Wiedermann authored a book, "Ueber die Numerische Erfassung des Stromungsfeldes in Kanaelen und Leitradgittern" ("About the Numerical Acquisition of the Flow Field in Channels and Guide Grids") and authored articles to a text book on gas turbine technology. He also contributed over 100 articles in peer reviewed journals throughout his career and maintains memberships with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. Currently he gives lectures on gas turbine technology at the department of energy and process engineering of Technical University of Kaiserslautern (Germany). He is an appointed member of national and European research coordination networking groups.
Born in Hannover, Germany, Dr. Wiedermann served in the German Federal Army from 1975 to 1976. Later marrying his wife Mami Kano in December 1998, he has long enjoyed music, theater, art and sports. Notably, Dr. Wiedermann has been highlighted in over 20 editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
