American Health Council Appoints Dr. Caitlin Margitan, DNP, MN, PMHNP, to Nursing Board

    NEW YORK, NY, September 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Caitlin Margitan, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare in Portland, Oregon, has been appointed to the American Health Council's Board of Nurses. With 11 months in her current position, three years in the Mental Health services, including two as a Psychiatric RN, the AHC is proud to highlight Dr. Margitan's skills and expertise in Nursing, Behavioral Health, Corrections Health, Psychiatry, and Mental Health.

Obtaining her DNP from Oregon Health Sciences University (2017), Dr. Margitan became involved in her present profession due to the desire to assist underserved populations in her community, specifically those experiencing mental illness and homelessness. She cites her continuous success to setting small, achievable goals in order to progress towards larger accomplishments.

At Cascadia, Dr. Margitan partakes in day to day responsibilities, including prescribing and managing the distribution of psychiatric medication, evaluating mental health illnesses, and educating patients and community members concerning the effects of mental health on patient access to community resources, as well as potential involvement with the legal system.

Dr. Margitan is a member of and professionally associated with Sigma Theta Tau - the International Honor Society of Nursing. Her professional goals within the next five years include expanding her role at Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, and continuing to grow as a healthcare professional. She is proud to have earned her Doctorate degree in Psychiatric Nursing.

In her spare time, Dr. Margitan enjoys traveling to other countries, hiking, and sailing.
