Now retired, elementary school educator Ms. Krause spent the first 33 years of her career as a teacher at North Star School District in Boswell, PA. Taking the opportunity to teach and serve as the school librarian at Johnstown Christian School beginning in 2007 and as an educational therapist at the school beginning in 2009, her retirement was a fitting end to a very successful and rewarding career in education. She has been certified in instructional II by the Pennsylvania Department of Education since 1976, and more recently received an educator's certificate through the Association of Christian School International in 2009.

The recipient of a 2009 grant by the American Library Association, Ms. Krause was also honored by being included in the 65th edition of Who's Who in America. Happily married to David Kaufman Krause since 1975 with one son, she is thoroughly enjoying much needed down time reading, traveling, and staying fit by exercising. She continues to serve her community as a volunteer at the County Manor Nursing Home in Jerome, PA, which she has been doing since 2006. Ms. Krause is also an active 12-year board member for the Christian Community Church, and member of the Somerset County Reading Council.
