Recently retired since 2016 from a prolific career in academia, Dr. Cohen is a trained experimental psychologist who was affiliated with New York University (NYU) for more than 40 years. A longstanding member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, the Eastern Psychological Association, and the Social and Affective Neuroscience Society, Dr. Cohen currently serves as a consultant for the David Lynch Foundation, an organization founded in 2005 for consciousness-based education and world peace to ensure that every child in the world who wanted to learn to meditate could do so.
