RENO, NV, December 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Blockchain: Building the New Nevada on Trust Conference will focus on bringing together key stakeholders to establish a braintrust in Nevada comprised of policymakers, state administrators, and blockchain entrepreneurs to learn about and discuss the potential of this new and innovative technology.
"As the blockchain continues gaining momentum and dominates conversations around fintech, energy, logistics, and mining, identifying areas where the blockchain can help government more efficiently serve the people is also vital to the new Nevada," said Sen. Ben Kieckhefer, who sponsored Senate Bill 398.
Leaders in state administration, public policy, companies in the region interested in how policy around the blockchain will impact their business models, and the entrepreneurs driving the blockchain movement forward will converge on Feb 6th, 2018 at The Nevada Museum of Art. The event is focused on creating a braintrust that will eventually create a principle-based policy and regulatory system that provides protections for users while fostering legal certainty and a stable environment for developers and industry.
Participants will get the opportunity to discuss how the ecosystem in Nevada can ensure blockchain tech leads to benefits for the end-user, not just a redistribution of profits. The hands-on conference will also introduce legislators and agency reps to the information and tools they'll need to: a.) identify areas where Blockchain is helpful to achieving government mission and b.) pull together key stakeholders to evaluate and develop pilot projects for integration of blockchain into sectors that will undoubtedly be affected by this transformative technology.

This legislation makes Nevada a perfect location for no-holds-barred discussion of the state of our rapidly changing world, as it relates to such key verticals as mineral mining, energy, gaming, accounting, logistics, and cannabis," said Mike Kazmierski, CEO of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada.
