Before establishing himself in the field of medical imaging and education, Dr. Choe was a lieutenant in the Korean Artillery. It was during his service that he developed the perseverance and discipline that has made him successful and that he continues to demonstrate on a daily basis as an educator. Following his time in the military, Dr. Choe pursued and achieved a Bachelor of Science from Seoul University, a Master of Science from the University of Alabama and a PhD from the University of Alabama. Additionally, he was selected for two distinguished fellowship opportunities - the first with the University of Alabama in 1987 and the second with Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, which he completed in 1992. In recognition of his professional excellence, Dr. Choe was the recipient of an All American Award in 1987, and he was honored by Who's Who in the World in 1995.
Recognized today as an expert and leader in his field, Dr. Choe remains at the top of his career through his memberships with prominent industry organizations. Notably, he affiliates with the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the American Association of Chemistry, the Radiological Society of North America, the Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance, the Korean Society of Medical Physics, and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. As he looks to the future, Dr. Choe has no intention of slowing down in his professional pursuits.
