LONDON, ENGLAND, October 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the ski season creeping ever closer many of us are starting to plan our trips, re-buy our kit and getting ready for the best this winter has to offer. Friday 28th October sees the start of the British Ski and Board show at the NEC and promises to be the perfect place to get you warmed up for the winter.
The event is largely about the companies on show but there also promises to be some fantastic freestyle skiing with the fantastic Big Air Freestyle show and aerialist shows taking place throughout the three day event. These shows will feature some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the world including Olympic competitors and world cup champions so you can expect to see some of the best tricks available anywhere. If that wasn't enough the show also sees the return of the Animal Bike Show which will be showcasing some of the best dirt jumping anywhere on the planet with a custom built aerial freestyle course with some of the biggest names performing some epic stunts for you. New to this year's show is Extreme Slovenia. "We first came to Slovenia in 2004 and instantly fell in love," said Extreme Slovenia co-founder JoYates. "It offers something completely unique where the terrain is dramatic and feels so untouched."
For those of you who like to be more hands on with your activities the show will also offer the chance for some warm up practices on the indoor skills slope which will also be offering free lessons for younger skiers and snowboarders. There is also a custom made cross country skiing course where you can compete against your friends and family. Plus, if you want to try your hand at something new there is going to be an indoor rock climbing wall as well as a film festival showcasing the best new ski and snowboard movies of the last year. If that wasn't enough there are also safety talks, fitness talks, equipment demonstrations and a whole lot more so there's no reason not to be entertained.
Whilst all this stuff is what makes the ski and board show a great day out it is actually the stalls and vendors that really form the meet and bones of the 3 day event as you will have the opportunity to see, test and buy all the latest kit as well as pick up all the best deals on holidays from over 120 companies all offering ideas, deals and discounts. If you're still undecided about where to go there are going to be a huge number of tour operators on show who can talk you through all your options, find you something unique or a bit quirky and can find a price that easily suits your budgets. If you're looking for new kit then you will, quite literally, be in heaven as you will be able to see all the very latest lines and try on and test everything - whether it's a new board or just some thermal gloves!
The show starts this Friday (the 28th) and runs through the weekend and promises to be the perfect start to the winter sports season. More information and tickets are available from the NEC website.
