Claire Paisner Celebrated by Marquis Who's Who for Her Excellence in Art and Journalism

Ms. Paisner has pursued her lifelong passions

FOREST HILLS, NY, March 24, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Claire Paisner has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Known for her prowess as a journalist, public relations executive, and fine artist, Ms. Paisner has pursued her lifelong passions for writing and painting. The mother of two daughters, she started her career in 1969 as editor-in-chief of the New York Voice newspaper, and remained at that post for seven years. Ms. Paisner spent 1977 as part of the New York City mayoral campaign for Percy Sutton, after which she filled the role of public relations coordinator at Con Edison from 1978 to 1980. The next 11 years were dedicated to her position as the public information director at York College of The City University of New York. In 1993, Ms. Paisner decided to commit herself to art full time, and works in the pastel medium, specializing in street scenes of New York City. In her paintings, she works to convey the vibrancy of the city through the use of vivid color, impressionist-type strokes, and walking figures caught in motion.

Ms. Paisner, born in Boston, has resided in New York City most of her life. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from Cornell University, a Master of Arts from Harvard University, and she pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Paris. She maintains affiliation with the Pastel Society of America, where she formerly served as a member of the board of governors and as editor of their magazine, "Pastelagram." She also has held civic roles with the Black American Heritage Foundation and Queens Public Television.

Ms. Paisner was honored with inclusion in numerous editions of Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in American Art, as well as one volume each of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the East. Additionally, Ms. Paisner earned a journalism award from the National Newspaper Publishers Association and a reporting award from Lincoln University, along with prizes at various national art exhibitions. Paintings of hers have been published in the books "Best of Pastel 2" (1998) and "Art of Pastel in France" (2005), among other sources.
