Attorney and partner at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP, a full-service law firm located in Columbus, OH, with additional offices in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC, Mr. Miller specializes in the areas of antitrust and international law. Fluent in German, he concentrates on transactions that involve German-speaking clients. He counsels foreign corporations and works in areas including commercial litigation, international tax and estate planning, real estate transactions, and immigration. While representing United States investigators broad, Mr. Miller primary focuses on agency and distributorship, joint venture, licensing, and international tax planning.

Prior to making partner, Mr. Miller was an associate for Porter Wright, Morris & Arthur LLP from 1978 through 1984. He also spent two years as a law clerk to the Hon. Joseph Kinneary for the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Ohio. He had previously taught junior high school in Berlin Hts., Ohio, and subsequently high school in Milan, Ohio, from 1969-1973. In 1995, he was also admitted to practice in Florida. Since becoming an attorney, he has been active in the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of International Law, where he has served as a division chair, technology officer, and liaison officer. He has also been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Columbus Bar Association, and the Order of the Coif. Although not admitted to practice in Germany, he is also an "extraordinary" member of the German Bar Association. He has served on a number of boards, including the Columbus Council on World Affairs, the Alvis House, and the Episcopal Retirement Homes. He is also board-certified in international law by the Florida Bar and has twice chaired the International Law Certification Committee of the Florida Bar.

Mr. Miller has been a panelist at a number of legal conferences, most recently at the French-German seminar in Paris in March 2016, where he spoke on the subject of International Business Structures from the U.S. Perspective. He has also recently been a panelist on the topic of "Managing Cross Cultural Fires between Asian Culture and Western Cultures" at the Fall meeting of the ABA Section of International Law in October 2015. He was a panelist for "The Proposed U.S. - EU Free Trade Agreement" at the Fall meeting of the ABA Section of International Law in London, England, in 2013 as well as at a program on "successful Strategies for Expanding Internationally" in Columbus, OH, in 2013. Mr. Miller additionally authored the chapter on "Immobilienrecht in den USA" ("Real Estate Law in the USA") the work titled "Handbuch Immobilienbewertung in Internationalen Markten" (Handbook on Real Estate Valuation in International Markets), published in 2013 by the German Bundesanzeiger Verlag.

Known for his contributions to the Dresden Sister City, Inc., where Mr. Miller currently serves as president of the board, the non-profit organization promotes cultural, educational, and sports exchanges, and facilitates business contacts between the cities of Columbus, OH, and Dresden, Germany. Married with four children, he first completed his undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University in 1969, Master of Education at Bowling Green State University in 1973, and JD at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1976, before being admitted by the Ohio Bar Association, the Southern District of the U.S. District Court of Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
