NEW YORK, NY, February 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donald Stever has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Stever is a prominent environmental lawyer based in New York City who established his career upon achieving a JD in law from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He started his environmental law career as the first environmental Assistant Attorney General in New Hampshire, after which he spent a year as a visiting professor at Dartmouth College, In 1978 Stever joined U.S. Department of Justice in which he served initially as an attorney for the pollution control section. He quickly rose to chief of that section, and subsequently became chief of the Environmental Defense Section. During his year at Dartmouth, Stever wrote his first book, Seabrook and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission - The Licensing of a Nuclear Power Plant (Univ. Press of New England). In 1982 he became a professor of law at Pace University Law School and with Prof. Nicholas Robinson, began the law school's now well-known environmental law program. While at Pace he authored a treatise, Law of Chemical Regulation and Hazardous Waste, (Thomson Reuters) that has grown to four volumes, which he continues to update. Drawing on his experience, in 1988 Mr. Stever transitioned into private practice as partner of Sidley and Austin in New York City, later heading the environmental law practice at Dewey Ballantine, before assuming his current position in 2004 as partner of K&L Gates LLP. In his private practice, Mr. Stever has litigated complex environmental lawsuits and transactions throughout the United States, in the Caribbean and in several foreign jurisdictions. Mr. Stever has met with success in his career because of his true passion for environmental law. In fact, his interest in the field led him to take on many career-related civic projects, including work on the board of directors of the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, which he served as Chairman for seven years, as well as the board of directors of the Friends Rockefeller State Part Preserve and board of directors of the Teatown Lake Reservation. His passion for writing led him to become a founding board of directors member of The Hudson Valley Writers' Center, Inc.

After achieving his legal academic credentials, Mr. Stever moved forward in passing the tests necessary to practice on a wide scale. He was admitted to the Bar of Connecticut in 1968, New Hampshire in 1969, DC in 1983, and New York in 1983. He also became accredited to practice before the United States Supreme Court, U.S. District Court of New Hampshire, the U.S. District Court of Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of New York, and several U.S. Courts of Appeals (1st, 2nd, 5th, 10th, and 11th circuit c).

In recognition of professional excellence, Mr. Stever was selected for inclusion into Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in Finance and Business. He has shared his expertise through a number of creative works in addition to "Seabrook and The Nuclear Regulatory Commission," and "Law of Chemical Reaction and Hazardous Waste," including "Environmental Law & Practice," a publication for which he was an author and editor, and numerous published articles and lectures.
