Beginning in 1970 at the Uzbekistan Academy of Science, Dr. Gussakovsky worked as the leading scientist for the institute of biochemistry and later became the senior scientist at its institute of virology. Other noteworthy roles include scientist at Bar Illan University in Israel, senior scientist at the Institute Horticulture Volcani Center and researcher at the Institute for Biodiagnostics for the National Research Council. Having made stellar strides in research and development, Dr. Gussakovsky achieved many career highlights, including recognition for his research in protein structure and folding, UV-VIS spectroscopy, photosynthesis, environmental photobiology, biomedical spectroscopy and imaging. He was also named an esteemed fellow of the Wolfson Foundation, the Rich Foundation, the Giladi Foundation, the Kamea Foundation, and European Molecular Biology Organization.
Dr. Gussakovsky attributes his success to his extensive experience and the knowledge acquired from his education. He holds a Doctor of Science and a Ph.D. from the Uzbek Academy of Science in Russia, as well as a Master of Science from Novosibirsk State University. He is certified as a senior scientist at the Volcani Center in Israel and a senior scientist by the highest certifying committee in the USSR. To remain at the top of his field, Dr. Gussakovsky is a member of the American Biophysics Society, the International Society of Photosynthesis, the New York Academy of Science, the American National Geographic Society, the American Society of Photobiology and the European Society of Photobiology.
