KENDALL PARK, NJ, November 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Duncan Hartley has excelled in the field of fine art photography for 60 years, having been influenced by a family dedicated to the arts. His mother attended art school and later opened her own art gallery, while his father was a poet and Thoreau scholar. Hartley was recruited into professional photography in the eighth grade, and within two years began a lifetime commitment to fine art photography. New York City was the subject of 60 years of his work, and another portfolio is a revealing exploration of the differences between two revolutionary-period towns in Massachusetts: Concord and Ipswich.

A graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, Dr. Hartley holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degrees in English history, and a Ph.D. in English literature with a dissertation on Shakespeare. He served as an Assistant Professor in English at William Patterson University, but was soon recruited into international executive education by the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). His next major position was that of Director of Individual Giving and Executive Director of the President's Council at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

He then took the position of Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Affairs for the School of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. The teaching hospitals for the medical school were the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Cleveland. He was then recruited to a newly created position of Sr. Philanthropic Advisor of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, with an office in Florida. In all, Dr. Hartley served for 25 years as a philanthropic fund raiser for cancer research and biomedical research. During this time, he had the privilege of working with eight Nobel Prize winners, and many of the nation's most brilliant doctors and scientists.

Then Dr. Hartley returned to fine art photography full-time. As an experienced photographer and Photoshop professional, Dr. Hartley now has over 150 over-size, archival prints in the permanent collections of 10 major national museums and special collections.

Dr. Hartley is a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church, and serves on their Communications Committee. He is a Member of the Princeton University Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New-York Historical Society, the Princeton Photography Club,
and the Thoreau Society.

He has been named in Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the East.
