Family Service Unveils New Agency Logo and Website During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

New Logo Looks Towards the Future and Helping Those in Need

    GREENBORO, NC, October 28, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Family Service of the Piedmont has unveiled a new agency logo. It better communicates what the organization stands for, and includes an icon that resembles a person who, like many of the agency's clients, is looking forward to a more positive future. For almost 20 years, Family Service of the Piedmont, as a combined agency in Greensboro and High Point, has been helping people address domestic violence, child abuse, mental health, and financial stability. The agency has also launched a new modern, easy-to-navigate website at http://www.safeandhealthyfamilies.com that reflects its new visual identity.

"We are excited to have Family Service embrace the present with an eye towards the future," says Anne Osborne, a Board Member for Family Service of the Piedmont who has been instrumental in providing guidance for the agency's new look. "Launching our new website during Domestic Violence Awareness Month helps to raise awareness of the many services the agency provides to victims of domestic violence, including the shelters in Greensboro and High Point."

Over the past year, Family Service has:
- helped more than 4,700 victims of domestic violence and other violent crimes;
- received an average of one call every 3.3 hours to the Crisis Line;
- housed an average of 28 women and children each night in one of the agency's two domestic violence shelters--Carpenter House in High Point and Clara House in Greensboro.

87 percent of women who stayed at one of the shelters for at least 10 days or more went home to a safe, non-violent living environment.

"Our Victim Services Division is committed to providing quality services to people in domestic violence situations," says Shay Harger, Director of Victim Services for Family Service of the Piedmont. "We work with those affected to address the physical, psychological and emotional trauma experienced by the victims and their families. Our goal is to provide the support needed through the entire process."

If you or someone you love is in a potentially violent home situation, please call the Family Service Crisis Hotline at 336-273-7273 or 336-889-7273.
