    TORONTO, ON, July 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ --

Q: What Does it Mean for Your Company to be Voted by Consumers as your City's Best?

A: It shows that all our hard work is paying off!

We've been delivering best-in-class IT support and services to businesses across the GTA for 23 years, but over the last 4 years we've dedicated considerable time and energy into evaluating and improving the way we support our customers - and it shows!

Our industry has changed a lot over the last decade. In order to stay ahead of the pack, we've invested in the latest training and technologies so our clients can spend more time focusing on THEIR JOBS and less time worrying about IT.

We're dedicated to delivering the best IT support in Toronto so our clients can continue to be effective, efficient, and profitable.

Q: What is it About Your Company You Feel Sets You Apart From Your Competitors?

A: The IT industry is completely unregulated, and as result, there are a lot of IT providers who may be good at fixing computers, but don't understand, or have the skill set to manage the complexity of a business IT environment. It takes a lot more than just technical skill to deliver industry-leading IT support.

Here are 4 things we believe truly set us apart from our competition:

1) Our commitment to a process. If you don't have a predefined way of doing things, then every technology problem is a science experiment. We have checklists and processes for everything we do so it's done the same way, every time.

2) We ensure a positive "service experience". Lots of people can fix computers, but if they make you wait forever, are rude or arrogant, or make you feel stupid for not understanding their technical jargon then their technical capability is irrelevant. We make sure all our clients know they're valued and treat them with respect at all times.

3) We're extremely consultative. What works for one business may not work for another. That's why we work with our clients to understand their business and their unique needs to come up with a solution that solves their problem while sticking to their budget.

4) We're multi-platform. Many IT providers are very skilled with Mac, or Windows, or Linux, but very few of them support all platforms effectively. We believe our clients need access to the most appropriate technology for their needs, regardless of the type of technology. We've been working with all of the above since 1995 so we know how to make everything work together. That's why we're called "Connectability"

Q: How Will Winning This Award Affect the Work You Do Moving Forward?

A: Since our industry is unregulated, it's not unusual for us to meet with businesses who have been burned by an incompetent IT provider. Since technology is so critical there's a lot of risks associated with choosing a new IT provider.

Although we've been delivering best-in-class IT support to businesses across the GTA since 1995, many companies may not know about us. Winning Managed Services Provider of the year from Consumers Choice Awards will help put our prospective clients' minds at ease, knowing that they're working with Toronto's best.

We're always working to improve responsiveness, technical skill, customer service, and client satisfaction. And since we want to win this award every year, our focus is clearer than ever. We're the best Managed Services Provider in the GTA and we're only getting better!

Q: What is the Biggest Risk You Have Ever Taken in Business?

A: A little background: when I was 22 years old I had just graduated from York University with a degree in Computer Science and I recognized a need for customized software solutions for businesses in the distribution, fundraising & advertising industries, so I founded KTS Systems Group.

I had no experience in the business world, but with my skill set, the right timing, and maybe a bit of luck, I was able to quickly grow the company from 3 to 80 employees, with offices in Toronto, Montreal, New York, and Los Angeles. But by the early 1990's I'd grown tired of "babysitting" our growing team and decided to sell the company and strike out on my own.

Before leaving KTS I'd realized a growing need for business IT support and in 1995 I founded Connectability. I took a big risk leaving a well established, profitable company to start over, with no guarantee of success. When you're young it's easy to give things a shot because you have fewer commitments, but by this time I had a home, a wife, and 2 children to look after. The story has a happy ending of course, but at the time I was taking a big leap of faith.

Q: Businesswise, What is Your Next Big Step?

A: Every day there's an article in the paper about a major cyber attack, data breach or technology disaster. Businesses today are more susceptible than ever to cybercriminals, but many small and medium-sized businesses we meet with tell us they don't have to worry because they're "just a small business".

Unfortunately, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Cybersecurity is becoming more and more important. That's why our focus is on education. Securing a business network is no simple task. It requires ongoing monitoring, advanced security solutions, regular computer updates, user training, and the use of policies and procedures regarding technology.

If you ignore one piece of the security puzzle it could spell disaster for your business. We are dedicated to educating our clients, and the marketplace in general about the significance of Cyber Security and what they need to do to stay safe online.

GETTING TO KNOW TED SHAFRAN:

My Business Motto is... Customers always come first. Over the years I've dealt with a lot of businesses who've treated me like a number, or a problem.

We promise to never do that to our clients. At Connectability we take client satisfaction very seriously. Not only do we ensure that our clients receive top-notch IT support, we also work very hard to make sure they have a positive experience.

It's not enough just to fix someone's problem. We want to make each and every client happy that they've called us!

What I Like the Most About My Job... My favourite thing about my job is making technology headaches disappear.

Technology today is critical regardless of what industry you're in. That's why it's so important for it to work correctly. If your technology doesn't work effectively it affects your bottom line. That's why I take so much pride in alleviating technology concerns. I love seeing the look on a new customers face when I resolve a long-standing issue.

My Biggest Success is... Being a lifetime entrepreneur. It's not easy, and sometimes it can be extremely stressful, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I can support my family, help the economy, and grow and develop our team, all while being my own boss.

There are always growing pains, but starting and developing two separate companies is definitely one of my biggest successes.

If I Could Own One Word in the Mind of My Consumers, it Would be... Reliability.

Regardless of what you do, technology is critical to operations. If technology isn't reliable, or you can't reliably reach your IT provider your business will suffer.

When our clients think of "Connectability" we always want them to think about reliability. If you have IT issues we'll respond promptly and make sure it's fixed right the first time. And we're always suggesting ways to make our clients more efficient and profitable.

During My Spare Time I Like to... Sing. I've had the pleasure of being a member of the Mendelssohn Choir - the largest choral organization in Canada - for the last 9 years. As part of the Mendelssohn Choir I've had the opportunity to perform with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and on occasion as a backup singer for acts like Barbara Streisand and Super Tramp.

It's quite challenging, but it's also fun and I get to interact with a lot of very talented people I wouldn't otherwise have the chance to get to know.
