Since 2011, Dr. Jang has been an assistant professor of internal medicine and gastroenterology at Eulji University Hospital, one of South Korea's foremost universities for health care and medical education. Prior to this role, he was a clinical instructor of internal medicine and gastroenterology at Asan Medical Center, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine.
As a professor, Dr. Jang educates future medical professionals and conducts ongoing research into cutting-edge treatments and technology to better care for his patients. He has written scholarly articles appearing in numerous publications and has been recognized for his research capabilities with the Excellence Subject on Research Award at the fall conference of the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in 2010 and 2011. He also received the Young Investigator Award at the IAP & PCCA joint meetings held in September 2013 and August 2015, and was honored as a person who brings glory to Korea by the Biological Research Information Center in 2012.
Dr. Jang earned a bachelor's degree in medical science from Chungnam National University, a Master of Medical Science from the Graduate School at the University of Ulsan, and a Ph.D. (ABD) from the Chungnam National University School of Medicine. He is also a licensed medical specialist in gastrointestinal internal medicine, internal medicine and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He is a lifetime member of the Korean Association of Internal Medicine, the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Korean Society of Gastroenterology, as well as a member of the Korean Association for the Study of the Liver and a lifetime member and computer information committee member of the Korean Pancreatobiliary Association.
