Joel Le Bon, PhD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    HOUSTON, TX, February 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Joel Le Bon, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Le Bon celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Recognized as the most awarded sales professor in the world with more than 20 international distinctions, Dr. Le Bon is currently the director of professional development at the Steven Stagner Sales Excellence Institute and professor of marketing and sales in the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Entering academia in 1999 as an assistant professor, and later as an associate professor of marketing at the Paris and Singapore Campuses of ESSEC Business School, Dr. Le Bon taught for a total of 11 years in France and Asia. He was also head of their marketing department from 2004 to 2006. Prior to joining ESSEC Business School, Dr. Le Bon spent one year and a half as a postdoctoral visiting scholar at Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business in the Institute for the Study of Business Markets and nearly 10 years as a marketing lecturer at Paris Dauphine University in France in the 1990s.

A longtime consultant in the field, Dr. Le Bon's experience includes having worked for OFUP from 1986 to 1990, first as a sales associate and subsequently was named area sales manager and district sales manager where he received the All Time Highest Market Penetration and Customer Retention Rates in those roles. As a district manager, he was responsible for 120 sales associates, oversaw seven area sales managers, and developed and implemented various marketing and sales programs. He then accepted a position with Xerox France from 1991 to 1993, as a strategic account manager and managing customer relationships with multinational companies of the telecommunications industry.

Dr. Le Bon authored "Competitive Intelligence and the Sales Force: How to Gain Market Leadership through Competitive Intelligence" in 2014. He also co-authored a second book, "Key Account Management: Strategies to Leverage Information, Technology, and Relationships to Deliver Value to Large Customers." He has contributed chapters to multiple books, authored and co-authored several refereed articles in such publications as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Harvard Business Review Online, served on the editorial boards for several professional journals, contributed multiple conference proceedings, where he was the recipient of several Best Paper Awards, and also contributed numerous conference presentations.

A member of the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Marketing Science, the Society for Marketing Advances, the Global Sales Science Institute, and the American Association of Inside Sales Professionals, Dr. Le Bon served various roles for a number of organizations, some of which more recently included co-founder and chair of the Academy of Digital Sales which hosts the Academy of Digital Sales Summit & Awards, co-chair of the Global Sales Science Institute Conference in Mauritius, and founder and director at ESSEC Business School of the Observatory of Payment Policy in Asia, and of the European Center of E-Business in Paris. Of his numerous recognitions over the years, Dr. Le Bon received the IBM Faculty Award in 2002 (first French winner), the Prentice Hall's Solomon-Marshall-Stuart Teaching Award for Innovative Excellence in Marketing Education from the American Marketing Association in 2007 (first International winner), the Lamb-Hair-McDaniel Outstanding Marketing Teacher Award from the Academy of Marketing Science in 2017, the Axcess Capon Distinguished Teacher Award from the Society for Marketing Advances in 2017, and the Sales Special Interest Group Excellence in Teaching Award from the American Marketing Association in 2016.

Dr. Le Bon has a Bachelor of Arts in Management Science, a Master's degree in Marketing and Strategy, and PhD in Marketing from the University of Paris at Dauphine. Born in Moka, Mauritius, a small island just east of Madagascar, he lived in France and Singapore before becoming a permanent resident of the United States. Married to Caroline Nardy since 1994 with three children, Dr. Le Bon enjoys spending time with his family and practicing martial arts.
