"Seeing the turtles was invigorating, i felt one with nature and would absolutely do it again. I advise everyone to experience this." -Nikki Vorhees, JOC Guest

JUPITER, FL, June 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paddling the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve is never anything short of fantastic. Wildlife is abundant throughout this area, but even locals and visitors may be unaware of the secret cove where green sea turtles abound. Manatees, rays, and turtles especially, are all common animals to see on a paddle through the Indian River and Jupiter Inlet. Picking the best combination of tides and time of day, Jupiter Outdoor Center has created a new experience that will practically guarantee guests an unforgettable wildlife adventure. Beginning June 20th from 4:30-6:30, Jupiter Outdoor Center will be offering 3, 1 hour-long rental sessions. "Turtle Time" will send guests on a paddle experience to the best spot in town for viewing turtles in their natural habitat. Times are based on the tide and will change from day to day. JOC will direct guests to a secret cove for an hour-long, self-guided, wildlife adventure they won't find anywhere else.

The turtles that are often found in the cove can be seen grazing on the beds of Johnson's Sea Grass below. This sea grass can be found throughout South Florida and provides shelter for small creatures and food for green sea turtles and Florida manatees. Although these grasses are often overlooked, they are very important to Florida's coastal ecosystems and must be protected. Without them, our fragile web of life would be compromised. Green sea turtles are the most common turtle to see on this experience, but hawksbills, loggerheads, and sometimes even leatherbacks are also a possibility. They often swim in multiples and mostly stay outside the channel near the shore, making this adventure ideal for paddleboarding and kayaking.

JOC is now the exclusive provider of clear kayaks from the Crystal Kayak company. Crystal kayaks are clear bottom boats that allow for a view unlike any other. These transparent kayaks will give guests increased visibility and an enhanced experience by bringing them up close and personal with this spectacular species. The boat suspends you over the wildlife and reefs, providing the clarity of snorkeling with the convenience of kayaking. Paddle right to the turtles and float swiftly along their path as they move just below the surface. You can snap an upclose shot of one peeking its head out of the water or use an underwater camera to capture an even better image. Turtle Time focuses on the beauty Jupiter has to offer and can be an eye opening, heart warming experience for anyone. A Turtle Time experience will surely leave everyone with an everlasting memory and uncontrollable smile. The Jupiter Outdoor Center is also pleased to announce a collaboration with Dr. Larry Woods of The National Save the Sea Turtles Foundation to assist in collecting research on these beautiful creatures.
