Born to Nikola K. Ivanov and Velichka V. Ivanova, Dr. Ivanov has reached his current success through consistent focused efforts and hard work. He attended the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to earn a PhD in 1990, and taught with Pennsylvania State University for many years.
From 2007 to 2015, Dr. Ivanov held the title of Distinguished Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Penn State, and accrued numerous university awards and best paper awards at industry conferences. In addition, Dr. Ivanov is the author of 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and of 200 papers in international conference proceedings.
On a research level, Dr. Ivanov is a member of the NEA/OECD Expert Group and chair of the Scientific Board on Uncertainty Analysis in Modeling. He has retained membership with the American Nuclear Society for many years, and intends to continue teaching and working with the North Carolina State University for many more years to come.
After moving to the U.S. in 1993, Dr. Ivanov is now an American citizen. He has a brother, Vladimir, and is married to Maria N. Avramova. Dr. Ivanov is the proud father of Mira K. Ivanova and Emil N. Ivanov. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies. Dr. Ivanov was selected for inclusion in the 58th and 57th editions of Who's Who in America.
