Lectrifi Planning to Debut Automotive WPT System in Silicon Valley Experiment

Lectrifi to test viability of cordless charging pads at corporate HQ car parks in Silicon Valley.



    HONG KONG, October 16, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hong Kong-based wireless power transfer (WPT) technology pioneer, Lectrifi announced today that it is in talks with facilities managers and human resources departments at several high-profile Silicon Valley technology companies aimed at trialing the latest iteration of its cordless charging pads at their corporate car parks.

Silicon Valley companies have a high percentage of electric vehicle owners among their employees and Lectrifi believes that encouragement from employers would improve uptake of the trial.

The company says it will provide participants with a simple conversion kit that will enable their vehicle to tap the magnetic field of its charging pads and replenish depleted or partially-depleted power cells without the use of cables or a charging plug.

In recent months, Lectrifi has reiterated its view that the future of wireless power transfer technology is "inextricably" linked with that of electric vehicles and this trial is being seen as the latest example of its drive to establish a firm presence in this market.

"We are talking to facilities managers and human resources at several well-known Silicon Valley technology companies," said Lectrifi's Chief Marketing Officer. "We have 50 charging pads and conversion kits all of which can be customized to fit several popular models that rely on corded charging. The plan is to equip those vehicles with the kits and install the charging pads at the car parks for a three-month trial," he added.

Lectrifi plans to collect usage and performance data from the charging conversion kits which will be equipped with analytical software that will report on voltage flow to the power cells at various stages of depletion.
