Marilyn studied privately for 25 years with vocal music teacher, coach and director, Shirley Kout from 1997 to 1999, Russian pianist Marina Grin from 1992 to 1994, classical artist John Delevoryas from 1984 to 1992, recording and concert artist John Kraus from 1980 to 1984 and other classical teachers from 1948 to 1962. She also completed advanced organ studies with Marion Ritchie in 1978 and creative improvisation studies with Martin Mann in 1978. She attributes her success to her faith in God, hard work and passion for music.

Marilyn received Certification in Piano, Organ and Voice through the Music Teachers' Association of California and holds Certification in Piano through the National Guild of Piano Teachers. She is a member of the Music Teachers' Association of California, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the American Guild of Organists.
