With more than 20 years of professional experience in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Swarup has served as a co-founder, partner, and physician with New Horizons Women's Care since 2001. In this position, he is responsible for the fundamental development and management of four offices. In addition, he has served as chair of the department of obstetrics and gynecology with the Chandler Regional Medical Center since 2015, and he is an assistant clinical professor at Midwestern University and co-founding partner of the Arizona OBGYN Affiliates. Earlier in his career, he worked in private practice from 1998 to 2001.
Dr. Swarup began his career as a student at Cornell University, obtaining a BA in biochemistry and liberal arts in 1990. He went on to study medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, earning an MD in 1994. He completed a residency with the Baylor College of Medicine in 1998, and is board certified as an obstetrician and gynecologist. He is a member of the Phoenix OBGYN Society, the Maricopa County Medical Society, the Arizona Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Urogynecologic Society, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparascopists, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, the American College of Physician Executives, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He currently serves as a member of the Physician Board of Managers with the Arizona Care Network, the largest ACO in Arizona.
A respected voice in the field, Dr. Swarup has worked as a principal investigator on several clinical trials, and he has co-authored numerous publications, including "A Randomized Controlled Multicenter US Food and Drug Administration Trial of the Safety and Efficacy of the Minerva Endometrial Ablation System: One-Year Follow-Up Results," which was published in the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology in 2016. In addition, he has attended various conferences and meetings related to his fields of practice.
In recognition of his contributions to the medical community, Dr. Swarup has been named a Top Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynecology by Phoenix Magazine. He was previously recognized as a member of the National Women's Health Clinical Advisory Committee with the Laboratory Corporation of America. However, Dr. Swarup most enjoys building long-term relationships with patients, which he considers to be a very unique feature of his chosen fields of practice.
