Mr. George A. Mathewson Honored by Marquis Who's Who for More than Four Decades of Professional Excellence in Law

Mr. Mathewson is the author of "1984 Arrives in America," which was later rewritten and published under the title "Hidden Agenda" and "A Boy Named Martin," which will soon be updated with a second edition



    LAKE GEORGE, NY, March 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mr. George Atterbury Mathewson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After receiving a Master of Laws from the University of Michigan Law School, he clerked with the NYC law firm of Austin, Burns, Appell, and Smith, passed the New York Bar, and then began his professional career with the Federal Trade Commission in the Office of Special Legal Assistants, reporting to the Commissioners. Later transferring to the Division of Mergers at the FTC, he then worked as a Trial Attorney.

In private practice for 37 years, in Syracuse, NY, in his own office, he first engaged in a general practice, and later focused on real estate, franchise law and litigation.
He also served as a Regional Attorney for Region 7 of the NYS Department of Conservation in 1971-72.

An alumnus of prestigious universities such as Amherst College '57, Cornell University Law School '60, and the University of Michigan Law School '61., Mr. Mathewson holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, and Master of Laws, respectively, from those schools. He is also a member of the Onondaga County (50 year member) and New York State Bar Associations. During his retirement, commencing in 2004, he authored the following historical novels: "1984 Arrives in America," which was later rewritten and published under the title "Hidden Agenda" and "A Boy Named Martin," which will soon be updated with a second edition. Mr. Mathewson also served on a number of not-for-profit boards. Throughout his career, he has achieved much, including obtaining a patent for a safety device for disabled airplanes. Additionally, Mr. Mathewson has been featured in the 26th edition of Who's Who in the East, 14 editions of Who's Who in the World, and 15 editions of Who's Who in American Law.
