With more than 35 years of experience, Mr. Pezzullo has been a self-employed writer and playwright since 1980. Prior to branching out as an independent writer, he worked as a grants specialist with the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, D.C., from 1975 to 1979.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Pezzullo earned a master's degree in public and international affairs from George Washington University in 1975. He is a member of PEN USA, the Writer's Guild of America, Private Eye Writers of America, Mystery Writers of America, the Author's League of America, Art Students League, and the Dramatists Guild.

A prolific writer, Mr. Pezzullo has been publishing novels since 1994, starting with "At the Fall of Somoza." Other works penned by Mr. Pezzullo include "Eve Missing" in 2003, "Jawbreaker" in 2005, "Plunging into Haiti" in 2006, "The Walk-In" in 2008, "Most Evil" in 2009, and "Inside SEAL Team Six" in 2011. Most recently, he authored "Zero Footprint," "Left of Boom" and "Hunt the Dragon," all in 2016, and "Full Battle Rattle" and "Hunt the Viper" in 2018.

In recognition of his contributions to writing, Mr. Pezzullo was honored with the Douglas Dillon Award by the American Academy of Diplomacy in 2006. In addition, he was the recipient of the Screenwriting Award from the Writer's Guild Foundation in 1987 and the Special Citation Kesselring Award in 1986. Furthermore, "Jawbreaker" was recognized as a New York Times Bestseller in 2005, and has been published in 20 countries, quickly becoming a highlight of his career. Mr. Pezzullo was named a playwriting fellow by the Jerome Foundation in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2001.

Married to Jessica Rae Pezzullo since 1994, Mr. Pezzullo has four children: John, Michael, Francesca, and Alessandra. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports and painting. Mr. Pezzullo has been inducted into multiple honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Entertainment, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who in the World.
