Rev. Dr. Jeffrey James Named Professional of the Year in Higher Education

    SAVANNAH, GA, October 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Dr. Jeffrey James, Retired Instructor from Savannah State University, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Higher Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Prior to his retirement, Rev. Dr. Jeffrey James dedicated over 35 years of his career to Savannah State University as a chemistry instructor. Especially knowledgeable regarding analytical and inorganic chemistry, he taught forensic science and conducted scientific research. Dr. James also directed the school's summer programs and organized workshops on behalf of the science department.

In addition to his involvement in academia, Dr. James is Reverend in the Baptist church. He is a notable preacher and theological expert. He looks forward to presiding over a parish where he can conduct Sunday school programs and consult with members of the congregation. Dr. James cites faith in God and hard work as the keys to his many years of success.

Dr. James earned his Ph.D. in ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998. He also earned a master's degree in ministry and a bachelor's degree in ministry from the same institution. Additionally, he earned a master's degree from Tuskegee University and a bachelor of science from Savannah State University. Dr. James is the vice president of the Savannah Baptist Ministers' Union and is affiliated with Freemasonry, Beta Kappa Chi Honorary Scientific Society and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
