Admitted to practice by the Florida Bar Association in 1974, Mr. Cole first earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and JD at the University of Florida, where he was ranked sixth in his graduating class. He began his career with Walton, Lantaff, Schroeder & Carson in Miami in 1974, and made partner at the firm in 1981 before joining Cole, Scott & Kisane, P.A. He has since been admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals, the Middle and Southern Districts of the U.S. District Court of Florida, the Supreme Court of Florida, as well every local court in the state of Florida.
Mr. Cole is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, where he served as president of the Miami-Dade chapter in 2004, a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar, and several others. He served as director, secretary, vice president, and president of the Dale County Bar Association, as well as director of the Dade County Defense Bar Association and delegate for the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Conference. He is also a senior life fellow of the American Arbitration Association, the Association of Past Bar Association Presidents of Florida, and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Mr. Cole has also served his local community in various ways, including as president of Kiwanis Breakfast Club of Miami, president of the 200 Club of Miami, a member of the board of directors for the University of Florida Alumni Association, and on the president's council for the University of Florida. He also spent time in various roles for the United Way of Dade County, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Miami City Club, as well as other local organizations.
