Robert Gable Celebrates Years of Industry Experience

Mr. Gable has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of real estate and Kentucky politics



    FRANKFORT, KY, December 07, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mr. Robert Gable has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

The son of Gilbert E. and Paulina Gable, Mr. Gable was born February 20, 1934 in New York, New York. On July 5, 1958, he married Emily Brinton Thompson. Together, the couple raised three children: James, Elizabeth, and John.

In 1956, Mr. Gable graduated from Stanford University with a BS. Following his graduation, he joined the US Naval Reserve in which he served as a lieutenant (j.g.) until 1958. In 1958, Mr. Gable began his career with the Stearns Co. Ltd., formerly Stearns Coal & Lumber Co. Inc. Mr. Gable was promoted to the position of secretary in 1960, treasurer in 1961, vice president in 1962, and president in 1975. Since 1970, he has served as chairman of the board.

As a real estate executive, Mr. Gable has been a member of various related organizations, including the Kentucky & Tennessee Railway, Lumber King Inc., Kuhn's Big K Stores Corp., Republican National Financial Committee, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He has been affiliated with Kentucky State Board Elections, Vanderbilt University, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky, National Committee for the Performing Arts, Kentucky Republican State Central Committee, and George Peabody College for Teachers. He also has been involved with the National Park Service, Interstate Oil Compact Commission, Kentucky Educational TV, National Council on Economic Education, and University of Kentucky for Somerset Community College. Mr. Gable has held important positions within many of these groups. He has been a board director for the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival Association from 1977 and 1978, Lexington Convention and Tourist Bureau from 1982 to 1985, Headley­Whitney Museum from 1985 to 1990, and Kentucky Center for the Arts from 2004 to 2009.

Mr. Gable has helped the George Peabody College for Teachers in 1979, and Kentucky Arts Council from 2004 to 2005. Mr. Gable was a member of the Kentucky Council on Economic Education, Inc., John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from 1993 to 1997, and Epworth Assembly from 2000 to 2001. As a trustee, Mr. Gable has been an influence for the following communities-- Epworth Assembly, Vanderbilt University, Capital Day School, and George Peabody College for Teachers. Mr. Gable also has led the Kentucky Department State Parks as Commissioner.

Throughout his life, Mr. Gable has been an active member of the Republican Party. In 1972, he was the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Kentucky, as well as the co-chairman for the Financial Committee for re-election of President. From 1973 and 1975 and in 1986, Mr. Gable was the Republican state financial chairman. During this period, from 1986 to 1994, he was the state chairman of the Republican Party in Kentucky. In 1975, Mr. Gable was the nominee for governor in Kentucky. In 1995, he became a candidate for the government of Kentucky.

Mr. Gable has appeared in various Marquis Who's Who publications, including the 24th through 29th editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry and the 34th through 37th editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business. He has been featured in the 46th through 63rd editions of Who's Who in America, as well as the 20th through 24th editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest. His achievements also have been recorded in the 8th, 9th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd editions of Who's Who in the World.
