Stewart M. Weintraub Chairs National Advanced Tax Seminars

Chamberlain Hrdlicka state and local tax (SALT) practice chair was the overall chair of the annual ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars



    PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 28, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chamberlain Hrdlicka's state and local tax (SALT) practice chair Stewart M. Weintraub again served as the overall chair of the ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars, an annual conference that brings the latest state and local tax updates to tax professionals nationwide.

Weintraub led the organization of the annual conference, which is jointly sponsored by the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. The ABA/IPT Advanced Tax Seminars were held March 20 to 24, 2017 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New Orleans. Weintraub also moderated a panel during a joint session of the Income Tax portion and Sales & Use Tax portion entitled "Illegal or Just Frowned Upon? An Exploration of Black, White, and Gray Areas" and a panel at the Property Tax portion entitled "Ethics for Property Tax Lawyers and Consultants."

Weintraub has focused his practice upon state and local taxation for more than 45 years. From audits through trials and appeals to the appellate courts, Weintraub represents clients in all aspects of state and local tax compliance and litigation. His practice also includes helping clients plan and structure transactions so that all state and local tax obligations are minimized.

Weintraub began his career with the City of Philadelphia Law Department where he rose to be chief of tax litigation and where he served as chief counsel of former Mayor William Green's Tax Reform Commission. In 2003, Weintraub was appointed to serve as a member of a new voter-approved Tax Reform Commission. He also has held leadership positions for the American Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association and has chaired or co-chaired the state and local tax committee for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce since 1983. Now in private practice, Weintraub has been a shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka since 2010.
