The Anthem Blue Cross Foundation Awards The People Concern $25,000 Grant

The Funds Will Support the Organization's Interim Housing and Wellness Programs



    LOS ANGELES, CA, September 01, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The People Concern, a nonprofit organization leading the effort to end homelessness in Los Angeles, announced today it has been awarded a grant from the Anthem Blue Cross Foundation in the amount of $25,000. The grant funds will help provide interim housing and comprehensive, integrated offerings including mental health, medical care, substance abuse services and wellness activities.

Anthem Blue Cross Foundation chooses recipients of the yearlong Program Grants based on an organization's ability to provide tangible and measurable results in their respective mission. The People Concern's problem-solving approach to combatting homelessness has produced profound results, specifically that 98 percent of those housed by the organization and provided with wrap-around services are never homeless again.

Within the The People Concern's Wellness Program, participants also see changes in their health indications, such as waist circumference and BMI.
