The Intensivist Group Changes Name to Sound Critical Care

Leading intensivist practice updates brand to Sound Critical Care

We're continuing to transform the way critical care is delivered and are committed to developing the next generation of critical care leaders.

TACOMA, WA, February 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sound Physicians, a leading healthcare organization focused on improving quality and lowering costs throughout the acute episode of care, announced today that its critical care physician group, The Intensivist Group, is rebranding as Sound Critical Care.

The Intensivist Group, founded in 2001, joined Sound Physicians in 2014. With Sound's focus on the acute episode of care, the critical care team's role in improving quality and lowering the cost of care patients in the ICU has made a significant impact on the communities where Sound providers practice.

Reflecting on the decision to rebrand from The Intensivist Group to Sound Critical Care, Stephen Matchett, MD, chief executive officer of the service, commented, "The name is new, but our leadership and focus remains the same. We're continuing to transform the way critical care is delivered and are committed to developing the next generation of critical care leaders."

Robert A. Bessler, MD, chief executive officer and founder of Sound Physicians, notes, "As an integral part our focus on the acute episode of care, our Sound Critical Care teams work closely with specialists and all clinical teams throughout the hospital to drive better care for patients. Teamwork is one of our core values, and our intensivists integrate effective multidisciplinary rounding that improve outcomes for patients in the ICU."

The brand transition will officially be happening at the Society of Critical Care Medicine's 47th Annual Critical Care Congress in San Antonio, TX, where leaders from the Sound Critical Care team will be welcoming visitors in the exhibit hall at booth #208.
