Ultimate 3D Printing Store Announces Two-Day Grand Opening To Unveil Its Expanded Showroom

The Odessa-based start-up offers exclusive access to test and purchase new 3D printing technology from the world's top distributors like Zortrax, Ultimaker and HP Scanners.

"We now have the space to display 16 different 3D printers, so people can get hands-on with the technology and discover how easy it is to use," Joseph DiMattei, U3DPS Chief Technology Officer.

ODESSA, FL, May 12, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The first thing you notice is the 6-foot-tall superhero, standing vigil in the center of Ultimate 3D Printing Store's new showroom, now open to the public, and ready for customers to snap an Ultimate Selfie with this unique colossus.

The one-of-a-kind, fully-3D-printed statue, created with the Zortrax M200 and M300 printers, is just one of the many 3D-printed items on display to promote U3DPS's move into its first stand-alone facility, which will host its grand opening May 19-20 at its new location, 1900 Gunn Highway, in Odessa.

The two-day event offers individuals and industry executives alike the opportunity to test-drive a host of new, cutting-edge 3D devices in its expanded 3D Printing Lab and talk to experts about the evolving potential of 3D printing.

"There's only so much people can learn using Google or other search platforms," said Joseph DiMattei, U3DPS's chief technology officer. "We now have the space to display 16 different 3D printers, so people can get hands-on with the technology and discover how easy it is to use."

Founded in 2015 by Roy Kirchner, Ultimate 3D Printing Store quickly garnered a national reputation as a leading proponent and expert on 3D additive manufacturing. The company now offers expert advice and consultation on applications ranging from rapid prototyping and tooling to low-volume production and mold making, which can be used in a slew of different industries from automotive and architecture to healthcare and defense systems.

Less than three years later, Kirchner's start-up is now offering businesses and educational facilities, regardless of their size, access to top-of-the-line 3D printers, including both FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) and SLA (Stereolithography) resin technologies. The company also is now an authorized reseller for the 3D printing industry's top producers, including Ultimaker, Zortrax, PhotoCentric Group, HP Scanners and Wanhao.

The company's new showroom provides the public with a chance to view and hold items produced by machines from those companies, including two motorcycle helmets, fully 3D-printed; a leather-wrapped 3D-printed steering wheel; a fully functional blue-tooth speaker; two different robotic arms; a shop light that plugs in; and a 3-foot-by-3-foot, horizontal 3D-printed landscape of Dubai that includes 12 separate buildings and the city's monorail system.

Ultimate 3D Printing Store offers 3D printers starting at less than $400 up to $7,000 in-store. Online, the company's website provides customers with access to order machines that cost as much as $60,000-plus. U3DPS offers affordable financing in-house, which means a $6,000 machine can be yours for under $150 a month.

For its grand opening, Kirchner said Ultimate 3D Printing Store will not be blocking off time in advance. Visitors should speak to a sales associate upon arrival to schedule a one-on-one demonstration and in-person tutorial with 3D printers that are not available anywhere else in Florida.

U3DPS is now featuring the Ultimaker S5, which uses dissolvable filament to create any geometric shape imaginable; new high-quality resin printers from Phrozen Make and Uniz; and the HP Sprout, a $3,400 desktop computer and scanner with projector that allows users to place an object on a projection mat, take a photo and then hand-spin the object 360-degrees to live capture every nook while automatically editing out the user's hand.

"The speed with which 3D printing technology has advanced is mind-blowing," said Kirchner. "We're in communication with companies like Owens Corning that are developing a new, nylon-and-fiberglass fiber-filament called XSTRAND that is so strong it's being used to 3D-print end user parts for cars and many other industrial applications. We are the only showroom in the United States to feature a new resin printer by Uniz that is 30-times-faster than the average 3D printer."

The Ultimaker S5, which debuted last month in Fort Worth, Texas at the annual RAPID + TCT 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing conference, is another such device. U3DPS will have an S5 demo model available for the grand opening, and the company is now taking orders online to purchase the machine.

The grand opening also serves to advance U3DPS's continued focus on manufacturing as more companies turn to 3D printing to accelerate production times and improve product quality.

"The 3D printing revolution is no longer just for tinkerers and hobbyists. This amazing technology can advance any business to the next level," DiMattei said. "Our goal is to educate the public and our local business leaders that 3D printing is not just for creating an end-use product. This technology is now proven in its ability to streamline manufacturing and increase productivity."
