WorldVentures Foundation Presents Its First TechCart to Boys & Girls Clubs

Tech Cart Program to help area teens excel in STEM and job-readiness career preparation

"Technology is foundational to how we learn and communicate," said Paine. "Unfortunately, some kids don't have access to technology and are unable to develop the skills needed for academic success."

PLANO, TX, July 19, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- WorldVentures Foundation™ has introduced the Tech Cart Program to create opportunities for education and technological development for children and teens at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Tech Carts are mobile storage units that can secure and charge up to a dozen laptops or tablets at once.

On Friday, July 20, WorldVentures Holdings Chief Executive Officer Josh Paine and WorldVentures Foundation Executive Director Gwyneth Lloyd presented the foundation's first Tech Cart containing 11 Chromebook™ notebook computers to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte, North Carolina, during a volunteer event. Identifying the greatest need in their community, the Boys & Girls Clubs sent the Tech Cart to support the kids and teens at the Milton Road Club.

"Technology is foundational to how we learn and communicate," said Paine. "Unfortunately, some kids simply don't have access to technology and are unable to develop the skills that are essential to academic success and career advancement. The Tech Cart Program levels the playing field, ensuring kids and teens have the opportunity to acquire technological skills to pursue a brighter future."

"We are elated to be the first club to receive a TechCart and Chromebooks from WorldVentures Foundation," said Dana Carpenter, Director of Operations for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Charlotte. "As a result of this donation, the 82 teens at the Milton Road Club will be able to participate in digital job-readiness and career preparation programs, along with Digital Literacy Essentials activities that provide a solid foundation of technology skills. And, with better access to internet resources, all 150 Club members can achieve greater academic success during our Power Hour program, which provides homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities."

WorldVentures Foundation plans to present additional TechCarts and notebook computers to Boys & Girls Clubs around the country, which serve four million young people ranging in age from 6 to 18. "The foundation's commitment to youth and their communities continues with the Tech Cart Program," said Lloyd. "We have a Heart to Serve and technology is much-needed resource for kids in this program."
