SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, December 31, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the release of author and publisher Perry Gamsby's third novel, 'Never Be Unsaid', a new genre of literature has been added to the growing list that has seen categories such as 'chick lit' and 'queer lit' accepted into mainstream literary circles. 'Street Lit', or literature of the streets is a new, working class style of reality writing.

"I originally categorized my work under the heading 'Urban', but a detailed search on Amazon.com found most 'urban lit' books were creative non-fiction accounts about the towns and cities" says 'Street Lit' originator, Perry Gamsby.

'Street Lit' is literature that looks at everyday, ordinary people finding themselves caught up in everyday, ordinary events yet these events have often extraordinary and very powerful consequences for all concerned. So far the 'Street Lit' body of work includes 'The Cool Side of the Pillow', Gamsby's semi-autobiographical, fictionalized account of his own divorce and the hard hitting 'choices and consequences novel', 'Twenty Seven Seventy'. Focusing on a single event that is commonplace in many suburbs, graffiti tagging, the novel weaves a cast of very real characters into a story of a single all too commonplace tragic event, asking the question; 'Is a tag on a fence worth the rest of your life?'

"We have all experienced love, loss and the full gamut of emotions that make us so very human. A story doesn't have to be about a super perfect, too good to be true character to entertain the reader. Street Lit is all about real people in real life" says Perry Gamsby.

The latest Street Lit release, 'Never Be Unsaid' follows the adventures of two men, car salesmen by day, writers by night, one from Marshall, Minnesota the other from a working class Sydney suburb as they hit the road to write the novels they have within. Despite adultery, flash floods, snake bites and bar fights, the two writers use their Outback roadtrip to learn that you can be forgiven for what you do far more than what you say.

Each of the first three novels in this new, exciting genre focus on the characters, everyday people living regular lives, people readers around the world can connect with. StreetWise Publications invites manuscripts from authors with suitable stories for consideration as this new genre builds its street cred among readers of both eBooks and printed 'tree-books'.

"Street Lit is all about everyday people and everyday situations we can all relate to. I'm hoping more writers who write 'Street Lit' but don't know where to place their work will find a home in this new genre" said Perry Gamsby
