-- Sam Gray of Boulder recently started a new job as a ski instructor for kids at the Gold Peaks Ski School. He is excited about the opportunity and is already enjoying his time on the job.
Sam Gray of Boulder is hoping to keep his job as a ski instructor up until March 2014. In March, Sam Gray of Boulder will be deployed in the Dominican Republic as a member of the United States Peace Corps. The deployment will last for 24 months and will give him the chance to become completely immersed in a new culture.
"I couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to serve with the Peace Corps, especially in a place like the Dominican Republic. I've never been there before and am excited about expanding and broadening my horizons over the next two years or so," said Sam Gray of Boulder
While he is excited about the future, Sam Gray of Boulder is currently focused on his new job in Vail, Colorado. "That's where my heart is right now. I've always heard the saying 'wherever you are, be all there,' and that's what I am trying to do right now," said Sam Gray of Boulder. "The Peace Corps is there for me in March, but this is what is important to me right now."
Being a ski instructor comes naturally for Sam Gray of Boulder. Growing up in Colorado, Sam Gray of Boulder has spent his entire life skiing. He is excited about being able to share his expertise and talents with kids. "I'm very passionate about working with kids, so being able to work as a ski instructor for the kids is cool," Sam Gray of Boulder
The Gold Peaks Ski School is one of the best in Vail and offers flexible lesson times. Vail.com states that "Registration and check-in for the Children's Ski and Snowboard School begins at 8:00am and closes at 4:30pm. Children in lessons must be registered by 9am the day of the lesson." Sam Gray of Boulder notes that children are grouped by their ability level and age. also mentions that kids under 4 years old ski for free and lessons meet at either Lionshead or Golden Peak Base.
Despite the long days, Sam Gray of Boulder says he really enjoys the job. "You can't beat it. I get to spend my day on skis and get paid for it? That's a great job." Sam Gray of Boulder believes the stringent Peace Corps application process helped him land the job. "The Peace Corps application and interview process was so intense that I think it helped me in other areas," said Sam Gray of Boulder.
