November 19, 2012 /EIN Presswire/ -- The wide variety of challenges the healthcare industry is currently facing will be discussed at the upcoming Healthcare Summit taking place towards the end of January 2013. Speakers from the HPCSA, COHSASA, SAMA, IPA, Council for Medical Schemes and other influential organisations will provide clarity and direction for healthcare organisations regarding policy reform and implementation. A key theme throughout the Summit will be how to bring together policy, strategy, partnerships and innovation to drive sustainable reform in healthcare.

Health authorities, hospital operators, government and pharmaceutical companies alike will discuss a compelling slate of topics that impact healthcare service delivery in South Africa and will come together to discover new solutions to the challenges they face in their respective organisations.

The roll-out of the NHI will also be discussed by Professor Morgan Chetty, Chairman of the Independent Physicians Association (IPA) Foundation of SA, and how the NHI could achieve more equitable healthcare funding. He will also cover how the health sector can contribute to the new approaches needed to make the NHI work.

The event will allow you to have your say in the healthcare reform debate, make your thoughts known and influence outcomes by participating in high-level panel sessions and networking activities. For more information on attending, contact the Institute for International Research (IIR) on +27 (0) 11 771 7000 or online at http://www.iir.co.za/healthcare.
