WEST COVINA, CA, July 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The glory of traditional Filipino wear handcrafted by designer Lou Razon-Chua is one of the spectacular highlights expected at the Philippine Independence Day gala this Saturday at the Westin Bonaventure in Downtown L.A.

A handful of celebrities and distinguished guests, including this year's Miss Philippine Independence, will be wearing Razon-Chua's Barong and Terno creations during this 111th celebration ball.

Razon-Chua's flair for mixing traditional materials with modern style has made her a leading source of Barong Tagalog and Filipiniana in the U.S. Her Barong Tagalog creations are highly praised for their comfort wearability and elegant look.

The Razon-Chua barong collection is also favored for its impeccable fit. Her collection also caters to men, women and kids.

"Traditional Filipiniana has truly evolved in cut, style and use of fabric and expresses unique take on these traditional wear by adding modern, tasteful details while still staying true to the classics," Lou Razon-Chua said.

She weaves in a more contemporary feel to a classic terno by utilizing fabric other than the traditional pina, jusi or cocoon and adding embellishments such as lace, embroidery and intricate beadwork.

She also applies a color scheme of vibrant, metallic colors such as copper, orange, silver, platinum, red wine, grey and magenta. But Razon-Chua is also partial to creating in colors that are neutral and familiar such as beige and champagne, which will always be timeless.
