Sharon E. Whitten Honored for Excellence in Childcare

    FORSYTH, IL, November 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sharon E. Whitten, Owner & Director of SharinTime Childcare, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in childcare.

Recognized as a pillar in her community, Ms. Whitten has personally raised more than 150 children in her 23-year career in childcare. She is the operator of SharinTime, a childcare home through which she cares for children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old, always placing emphasis on running a safe and well-organized practice that fosters an environment of love and learning. As a teacher, Mrs. Whitten prepares all children, 5 and under, for school with Mother Goose programs, even teaching them sign language and Spanish. She considers being remembered by adults she once cared for as children, to be among the most rewarding aspects of her career. She attributes her success to her patience, perseverance and lifelong commitment to making a difference not only in children's lives but in their parents' as well.

Mrs. Whitten volunteered on the Village of Forsyth Board's Health, Safety and Administration Committee. She helped to organize the first Booster Club at her children's Christian School and also was the first President of that Booster Club that is still operating and remains strong after 15 years. Mrs. Whitten also counseled with young women at the local New Life Pregnancy Center for several years.

She looks forward in future years to increasing her involvement in community service, with a focus on the elderly.
