Dermatology Practice in Tucson Offers Special on Microdermabrasion

Dr. Katherine Orlick is making it easier for people interested in dermatology in Tucson by offering a special for microdermabrasion procedures at Foothills Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery.

TUCSON, AZ, July 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Katherine Orlick, a board-certified dermatologist in Tucson, is excited to offer a special on microdermabrasion at her practice, Foothills Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery (www.olsonandorlick.com). Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that can help treat the signs of aging, sun damage, and scarring.

"I'm offering a special on microdermabrasion because it is a quick, painless, no down-time procedure that can help you get a smooth, youthful look for the summer," says Dr. Orlick. "A special also provides a great incentive for people who are considering a skin rejuvenation procedure like microdermabrasion to give it a try."

One of the most popular procedures at Dr. Orlick's dermatology practice in Tucson, microdermabrasion has been shown to effectively reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scarring, and enlarged pores on the neck and face. It also treats dry, rough skin and encourages the acceleration of skin regeneration. During a microdermabrasion procedure, our licensed aesthetician passes a device which contains pressurized crystals over damaged skin areas. The pressurized crystals exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin, and the device removes dead and exfoliated skin particles from the skin's surface. In areas with more extensive damage, our aesthetician may apply extra pressure or exfoliate the area more than once to treat deeper layers of the epidermis.

"As a dermatologist in Tucson, I see a lot of patients whose skin has been damaged by exposure to the sun and our harsh desert weather," says Dr. Orlick. "By removing the outermost layers of the skin, microdermabrasion gets rid of the skin cells that have been most damaged by exposure to the elements and encourages the creation of new, healthy skin cells."

As new skin cells are revealed, microdermabrasion patients will notice improved skin texture and an enhanced, more youthful overall facial appearance. It's normal for patients to look like they have a minor sunburn after microdermabrasion, but this generally only lasts 2 to 3 days. Dr. Orlick often instructs her patients to apply a cream to the treatment area and to wear extra sunscreen for a few days to protect the new skin cells. As with most dermatology procedures, Tucson patients should know that the results of a microdermabrasion treatment are not permanent. Dr. Orlick will help her patients plan a touch-up treatment schedule that is appropriate for the level of skin damage they exhibit.

In addition to the clinical dermatology and skin care treatments that Dr. Orlick offers, her partner, Dr. Jerold Olson, offers cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery procedures at their practice. Dr. Olson is a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who uses the most advanced techniques and technology in facial plastic surgery. He offers a number of procedures including face lift, brow lift, and rhinoplasty for Tucson men and women.

"Whether you're interested in taking advantage of the microdermabrasion special I'm offering, laser hair removal, or something more extensive like a face lift or rhinoplasty, Dr. Olson and I offer a range of procedures to help you achieve your facial enhancement goals," says Dr. Orlick. "Come to our office for an in-person consultation - we'd be happy to discuss any dermatology or facial plastic surgery procedure with you and help you decide what will work best for you."
