Raleigh DWI Lawyer Launches Online North Carolina DWI Case Review Service

The Chetson Firm, a Raleigh criminal law firm, announced the launch of an online and free case review service for people concerned about DWIs in North Carolina.

RALEIGH, NC, February 08, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raleigh criminal lawyer Damon Chetson announced the launch of new online North Carolina DWI case evaluation tool designed to provide customized answers based on responses users provide.

The tool, developed after countless of research, allows people who are concerned about North Carolina DWI charges to select various options based, and produces a case review based on those answers and based on current North Carolina law.

"The tool is not meant to replace a Raleigh DWI lawyer," said Mr. Chetson, who practices DWI and criminal law in Wake County. "However, when someone has questions in the middle of the night and can't reach a lawyer on the spot, the tool can provide some basic answers to questions about North Carolina drunk driving law."

The free tool, available at The Chetson Firm's Criminal Law website, allows users to indicate, for instance, whether they were stopped for a traffic violation, or whether they submitted to a breathalyzer test, or whether they got into an accident.

Based on these, and several dozen other questions, the tool provides a free, confidential report based on current North Carolina law.

"Many people aren't aware of just how harsh a North Carolina DWI can be," said Mr. Chetson.

"For instance, someone convicted of a DWI that occurred after December 2011, may be placed in jail for at least 30 days if there was a person under 18 in the vehicle at the time of the offense."

The tool also helps people understand how certain factors might affect them at sentencing. For instance, the tool provides information on North Carolina's Interlock requirement, which requires anyone convicted of a DWI where the blood alcohol concentration was a .15 or above to have a breath-monitor device in their car for at least a year.

"The tool should not replace a lawyer," said Mr. Chetson. "If they they choose not to hire us or another lawyer, a person charged with a Raleigh DWI would be silly to rely upon this tool, or any other information on the internet."

Mr. Chetson said that he had already received positive feedback about the tool.

"I think people will enjoy the ease of use, and the confidentiality," Mr. Chetson said. "Information is not shared with anyone but The Chetson Firm, and we don't contact people unless they request a call or email."
