Gaynell D. Hayward Honored by Cambridge Who's Who

    Hamilton, Bermuda, March 28, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gaynell D. Hayward, Chief Nursing Officer of the Department of Health, Hamilton, Bermuda has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing management.

Prior to her appointment as Chief Nursing Officer on February 1, 2012, Ms. Hayward was the Program Manager of the Maternal Health and Family Planning/CDC Clinics at the Bermuda Department of Health. Her day-to-day responsibilities included counseling on HIV, family planning communicable diseases, women's health and coordination of services and programs. She presently provides leadership and public health strategic planning for the Community Health Nursing program and government operated longterm care community seniors homes. Her nursing background has included neonatal, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, forensic nursing and public health.

Her philanthropic activities have included being a co-director for the Hayward Community Orphanage Program in Kenya, having volunteered her time to serve in Ethiopia and the earthquake victims in Haiti.

Ms. Hayward was certified as a sexual assault nurse examiner by the International Association of Forensic Nurses in 2003. She recently graduated with her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Liverpool in December 2012. In 1998 and 2001, she received the Bermuda Nurses Association Nurse of the Year Award. Additionally, she received the Public Health Professional Award in April 2010. Ms. Hayward is a member of the Bermuda Nurses Association and the International Association of Forensic Nurses.
