Dr. Ross Ian Coombes Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in ESL, Literacy and Literature Education

    BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, August 30, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ --Ross Ian Coombes, Private Consultant and Teacher (Retired), has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in ESL, Literacy and Literature Education.

Dr. Coombes, a 2012 Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Education, practices self-realization, goal setting and continual learning to progress in his education career. His current work with ESL students and adults attests to this. He has over fifty years of teaching experience and six years of experience as a private consultant in a sole proprietorship. He is highly skilled at teaching English to learners of all ages in the classroom and on an individual basis.

Prior to starting his sole proprietorship, Dr. Coombes worked as a primary and secondary school teacher in Australia and as a lecturer and coordinator of English courses at the Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. He employed practical methods in teaching comparative literature, acting and drama. He has also served as a director at the California Language Center, part of Khon Kaen University, Thailand.

Dr. Coombes received a Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Indiana; a Master's degree in theatre from the University of South Dakota; and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Queensland, Australia. He holds a teachers' certificate from Sydney. He is a member of the Cambridge English Language Teaching Association (CELTA). He is a fellow of the London College of Music (FLCM) and Trinity College London (FTCL). He is a Licentiate in speech and drama, Australia (LSDA) and an Australian accredited life coach. He has been a member of the Speech Teachers' Association, the English Speaking Union, the Specific Learning Difficulties Association of Australia (SPELD) and various theatre companies. Additionally, he is an Australian speech and drama examiner and an adjudicator and winner of speech and drama competitions. He is also an examiner for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
