"Gaming's transformed from two lines and a dot (Pong) to multi-layered, high resolution, interactive masterpieces like World of Warcraft. Education needs to follow suit."

SHANGHAI, CHINA, June 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The game, Mandarin Shooter Quest, launches in Apple's AppStore Friday with an Android version in the planning phase. "We are excited to finally share the game with Chinese learners of all abilities and we hope it's something that makes such a complex language that bit easier and more fun to master," said Will Abbott, Founder of Mandarin Shooter Quest.

In early testing, the game increased players recall on 50 words 2.87 times, from 30% to 86% after only a week playing the game for on average, 14 minutes a day. "The great thing is that we could demonstrate significantly increased recall by doing nothing other than just playing the game," said Raptodimos who ran a group of students through a controlled test at the Jingan Xnode Technology Accelerator in Shanghai.

According to TIME Magazine, the average high school student spends 6.3 hours a week playing video games. "There is no doubt the future of education is gamifying content." "Gaming's transformed from two lines and a dot (Pong) to multi-layered, high resolution, interactive masterpieces like World of Warcraft. Education needs to follow suit."

Mandarin Shooter Quest is the first publication by Cognition Gaming which hopes to use the power of games to solve real-world problems. The indie developer based in Shanghai is hoping people will support its mission to make learning any language much faster and more fun by using some of the in-app purchase features.

These include different weapons to speed the game up and "cheats", that act as time freezes and translation assistance. The developers hope to see some healthy classroom or office rivalry with integrated Score Leaderboards that track success against other players, across different stages and metrics.

The game allows players to choose from three avatars to help navigate through 24 Stages, including 150 levels, covering over 2,000 vocabulary words. Players travel around Greater China, exploring metropolises such as Shanghai and masterpieces of nature like Yellow Mountain and Yangshuo, Pandas in Chengdu, historical artifacts in Xi'an, the Gobi Desert from Xinjiang into Inner Mongolia and finally, finishing in the old Capital Nanjing.

Players can either learn the Chinese characters (Black Belt) or just the way to speak Chinese words through pinyin (White Belt). Plus, the game includes an HSK vocab stream for levels 1,2,3 and 4 which tracks the Confucius Institute approved Standard Course HSK Textbooks by Beijing Language and Culture University Press.

Readers can try the game for free by searching "Mandarin Shooter Quest" in Apple's AppStore or visit www.MandarinShooterQuest.com for more information.
