    NAPLES, FL, May 14, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Richard Glenn Clemens, Esq., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Clemens celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Retiring in 2007 as a senior counsel at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago, IL, Mr. Clemens dedicated his entire 52-year career in law at one of the most prestigious law firms in the United States. A former partner of 32 years in their Chicago office, he also served several years as an associate in Brussels, Belgium, and Washington, DC. Formerly known as Sidley, Austin, Brown & Wood LLP, they are the sixth-largest U.S.-based corporate law firm with 1,900 lawyers and 20 offices worldwide with annual revenues of more than $1 billion. Prior to Mr. Clemens' retirement, he was head of the firm's insurance and financial group, a 90-lawyer group specializing in the insurance and financial services industries. He was also the firm's first lawyer to serve in an overseas office. Some of his greatest accomplishments at the firm included several mergers, most of which were high volume insurance companies.

Graduating with honors from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia in 1962, where Mr. Clemens was a Phi Beta Kappa member, he later graduated as second in his class from the Law School at the University of Virginia in 1965. While pursuing his Doctor of Jurisprudence, he served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He has since established endowed scholarships at both the College of the Arts and Sciences and the Law School.

The author of the book "Rescuing America: The Bipartisan Path," published in 2007, Mr. Clemens has appeared on more than 25 radio and television talk shows to promote it. Today, he continues to serve as a volunteer consultant for the Executive Service Corps of Chicago, a non-profit organization that provides pro bono consulting services to charitable organizations on matters concerning governance, strategic planning, board development and fund development. He also serves as a volunteer fund development consultant for OneGoal, a Chicago-based non-profit college access organization that helps inner-city high school students finish high school and attend college.

Serving on the board of directors for the Naples Council on World Affairs since 2016, which sponsors lectures on world affairs and operates school outreach programs in Southwest Florida, Mr. Clemens has also been well known as a trustee for the Williamson College of the Trades for more than a decade. A men's junior vocational college in Middletown Township, PA, Williamson College of the Trades honored him in 2016 on National Philanthropy Day, not only for his successful career but also for his long-term commitment and contributions to the college. He also served as their commencement speaker in 2005 and officiated at the unveiling of a plaque naming the President's Office. Furthermore, in 2006, Mr. Clemens' was a speaker at the dedication of the Strine Learning Center and officiated at the dedication of the Center's James and Jeanette Clemens Educational Wing, which was made possible through a generous donation by him and his wife Judith. A financial supporter for over 40 years, Mr. Clemens has supported Williamson's annual giving program, as well as the Power Plant Technology Program, athletics, and student life. Due to his estate plans commitment, he is also a member of the John Wanamaker Society. Notably, his father was president of Williamson College for 21 years. Most recently, Mr. Clemens arranged for the college to become a partner college of Give Something Back Foundation, an organization that awards scholarships to students of modest means to help them receive a college education. Serving as the director since 2017, the partnership has since led to a $250,000 grant. Mr. Clemens has also contributed or arranged to contribute $250,000 as an additional contribution to the Give Back Scholarship Fund established at Williamson College.

Married to his wife Judith since 1967 with one daughter, Mr. Clemens formerly served as a captain in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War between 1966 and 1968. Cited in dozens of editions of Who's Who over the years, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World, he was also the recipient of a 2015 Isaiah V. Williamson Award from Williamson College of the Trades and was named Honorary Alumnus in 2017 by the Alumni Association of Williamson College. In 2015, as one of the co-managers of his law school class' 50th reunion gift campaign, Mr. Clemens helped to raise $3.9 million in gifts and pledges from his 204 classmates. His class had a gift participation rate of 70 percent, the highest of all alumni classes, with 40 percent of his classmates having attended the reunion.
