Langmead, CPA, STD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Langmead celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field and in a range of volunteer roles. Dr. Langmead is a certified public accountant of 50 years, part-time professor of systematic theology at the St. Mary's Ecumenical Institute at St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, and has recently served for more than a decade as Executive in Residence at Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business, developing new graduate courses and programs as well as administering and teaching them.

Entering the public accounting profession in 1965, Dr. Langmead has held various positions in the field, including during his two years of active service in the U.S. Army, and in 1976 was admitted as a partner with KPMG, formerly Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company, a recognized "Big Four" international public accounting firm. Before retiring from KPMG in 2000, Dr. Langmead served as an international partner specializing in SEC rules and regulations, spending his last five years in Europe advising major European companies seeking US stock exchange listings. He completed a KPMG International Partner Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1994. He scored highest in the State of Maryland on the November 1968 CPA examination and was recognized as among the highest scorers nationally. He has served on committees and sub-committees of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and has served on the board of directors of the latter where he has chaired several committees as well. He also holds the credential of Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Having taught graduate-level finance courses on a part-time basis earlier in his career, Dr. Langmead returned to academia in 2000, accepting Executive in Residence and faculty positions in Loyola's and St. Mary's graduate programs while pursuing advanced degrees, including a doctorate, in theology at St. Mary's. At Loyola's Sellinger School, he both instructed and participated in new course development within the accounting and finance departments, working primarily in the graduate MBA and MSF programs, including the Executive, Professional and Emerging Leaders MBA programs. He was also the creator, developer and academic director of a new graduate accounting certificate program. He has taught systematic theology courses at St. Mary's in both the Seminary and University itself and in the related Ecumenical Institute. He continues as a part-time faculty member at the Ecumenical Institute and periodically guest-lectures in Loyola's graduate programs. He is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Catholic Theological Society of America.

Highly educated, Dr. Langmead earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in accounting, magna cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration in finance, with honors, at Loyola University Maryland (formerly Loyola College) in 1968 and 1973, respectively. Returning to graduate school many years later, he completed a Master of Arts in theology, a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, both in 2006, and a Doctor of Sacred Theology in systematic theology at St. Mary's in 2007. The MA was accompanied by the Dean's Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theological Studies. In 2006 he also received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting Honor Society), Loyola chapter.

The author of "Experiencing the Call of Grace" in 2010, the book version of his doctoral dissertation, Dr. Langmead has contributed numerous articles to various peer-reviewed journals such as the CPA Journal, Strategic Finance and the Journal of Teaching in International Business. He and his co-authors received the Lybrand Certificate of Merit in 2012 for the quality of a recent publication. He has presented topics related to his research at national and international conferences.

Dr. Langmead has been extensively involved in community activities for many years and has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, chairing the boards of many of them. He currently serves on the executive board of St. Mary's Ecumenical Institute and its executive committee and chairs its finance committee. He also serves on the Accounting Advisory Board of Loyola's Sellinger School. He serves on the board of trustees of the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies and has recently chaired that board. He continues as an emeritus trustee of Baltimore Center Stage, a prominent regional professional theater, and chaired that board for several years. He served on the board of trustees of Loyola Blakefield, formerly Loyola High School, and chaired that board for most of his six-year tenure there. He served on the board of directors of the National Arts Stabilization Fund after it spun off from the Ford Foundation and served as its chair also. He was founding board member and chair of the Baltimore Arts Stabilization Project. He also served on the board of trustees of the Maryland State Arts Council and accepted appointment to a Governor's Commission on the Future of the Arts in Maryland. He served as vice-chair of the board of trustees of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maryland Chapter, and he has served on the board of trustees of Roland Park Country School, a private K-12 institution. He has served on the Alumni Board of Directors at Loyola University as well. He continues to serve on the financial advisory committee for Holy Cross Abbey, a Trappist monastery in Berryville, Virginia. He previously served on similar financial advisory committees for the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) and for his parish church and school. He has chaired and participated in the leadership of a range of major fundraising campaigns for several of these and other organizations. He served on the transition team for a newly-elected mayor of Baltimore. He is a member of Mensa and the American Legion.

Born in Baltimore as the first of eight children, Dr. Langmead has been married to his wife Judy K. Kearney since 1969 and has three children and eight grandchildren. An enthusiast of opera, music, history, theology, philosophy and technology, Dr. Langmead has been included in 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in the World.
