Coco Schoenberg Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Coco Schoenberg has been awarded a number of accolades for her accomplishments, notably the Most Innovative Use of Medium Award from Toshiko Tokaezu in 1994.

An accomplished listee, Ms. Schoenberg celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Ms. Schoenberg has been a studio potter, teacher, and lecturer in various cities, including New York, NY, since 1965. Prior to these appointments, she was a teacher to handicapped children at the Steven School from 1962 to 1963 and an associate in pottery for occupational therapy for the Teachers College at Columbia University in 1963. During this time, she has also served as a juror at numerous art fairs in New York and as a coordinator of a craft fairs in Demarest, NJ as well as taking part in ACC Craft Fairs in Baltimore and West Springfield as well as craft fairs in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Illinois.

Additionally, Ms. Schoenberg has been commissioned by the Gulick Group in 1988 and Harrison, Star, Weiner and Beitler Advertising in 1989. Likewise, she was the chairman of the New Jersey Designer Craftsman North with Headquarters in New Brunswick, NJ from 1983 to 1985. She also received a grant to teach a clay multidisciplinary course to Stillman 1st and 2nd grade children in Tenafly, NJ.

Ms. Schoenberg earned a Bachelor of Science in literature, science, and the arts from the University of Michigan in 1961. Returning to Long Island, NY, she studied sculpture with John Hovanes at the Art Students League in New York, NY. She then studied at the Saint Martin's School of Art in London from 1962 to 1963 with Toni Caro and, upon returning to the United States, she received a Master of Arts and Education from Columbia University in New York in 1964. She completed coursework in pottery with Ruth Hoffman in Babylon, NY from 1954 to 1957, and has also studied design with Michael Zankin.

First and foremost, Ms. Schoenberg is a sculptor and has exhibited her work in a number of shows across two continents. In 2006, she participated in group shows at the State Museum of New York in Albany, NY and the Hamburg Museum in Hamburg, Germany. The following year, she exhibited her work in an alumni show at the Great Neck Arts Center, now known as the Gold Coast Arts Center, in Great Neck, NY. She has also shown work in various museums and art centers in New Jersey, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago, among others. She has been represented in numerous galleries across the county.

Ms. Schoenberg has been awarded a number of accolades for her accomplishments, notably the Most Innovative Use of Medium Award from Toshiko Tokaezu in 1994 and a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts from 1983 to 1984. She was named Best in Show at the Macgate Craft Show, earned an award from Juror Richard Anuszkiewicz (SP) in clay at the Summit, NJ Craft Show and the Texeco Award. She is listed in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
