A Panic Button for the Information Age Can Save Lives With a Click of the Mouse

An electronic panic button is now available to summon support, send notification of emergencies and track incidents through emails, text messages and instant message alerts.

/24-7PressRelease/ - RALEIGH, NC, April 06, 2008 - A student goes on a rampage across campus in Virginia. The son of a deceased patient kills three in a hospital in Georgia. A man kills four, including his father, at a junkyard in California. Of all of these cases, there are critical risk factors that make the victims more vulnerable to the violence: isolation of the victim, workers nearby oblivious of the impending threat and no way to call for help quickly.

If isolation and lack of communication is the problem, there is now a revolutionary solution for lone workers to summon support instantly and discreetly through an electronic panic button.

The ePanic Button is a little icon that sits on the bottom right of a computer screen (by the clock). When you mouse over it, a window scrolls up with a series of customizable buttons. The user clicks one of the buttons to instantly send pre-arranged messages for support or for notification. These messages can be sent as an email, text message and/or instant message Alert.

Furthermore, this ground breaking technology allows administrators to track and manage their hostile encounter incidents. Follow up notes can be added to every instant message Alert to document outcomes and response. All records can be exported into text files where they can be utilized in spreadsheets and databases for incident tracking and trend analysis. Now security and risk managers can know when, where, with whom and why most of these incidents occur.

10 Reasons why the ePB is better than traditional hardwire panic alarms
1. It is completely customizable: set up and edit who gets what messages with just a few keystrokes.
2. No hardwires, drilling walls or furniture nor servicemen interrupting work.
3. Will not be accidentally set off with a bump of the knee.
4. Provides a range of messages, depending on the severity of the situation.
5. One click can send a message to one group and another message to a different group.
6. Sends a message to one person, 100 or more.
7. It can send text messages to mobile devices.
8. It can notify administration officials (or whoever) via email.
9. You can create a database of incidents by exporting alerts into a text file.
10. You can add notes to each alert to include details and indicate follow up.

There is a 30-day free trial period and 20% introductory discount is offered till May 1st, 2008.
