Notable roles in her career include senior information engineer with Maden Technologies in Dayton, Ohio, principal member of the technical staff with Century Technologies, computer scientist and legislative liaison for the Federal Managers Association, Chapter 104. She even spent some time as a government civilian at an air force base working as a base wide administrator for computer systems purchases. To remain at the top of her field, Ms. Martin has been very involved in the International Women's Leadership Association and the Red Hat Society Inc.
Outside of her professional work, Ms. Martin loves to pursue projects surrounding civic and religious causes. She is the chief executive officer and co-founder of the Joy to Nurture non-profit organization. She is also a published author, national gospel recording artist, psalmist and songwriter. In December 2018, she published "Journey of a Nurturer: Learning to Heal from the Inside Out."
